Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026
Vocue ("we") operates from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what the Vocue desktop app and website collect, where it goes, and the choices you have. Questions: support@vocue.ca.
What stays on your computer
- Recordings of your microphone during a session, if "Save recordings for playback" is on. They are deleted automatically after the period you choose (7 or 30 days) or kept until you delete them.
- Reports: transcripts, scores, timings and pitch data for each session.
- Settings, such as your microphone and nudge preferences.
We never receive your recordings or reports. "Delete all my data" in Settings removes them from your computer.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code and to contact you about your account.
- Usage: when each session starts and stops and how long it ran, and how many practice reviews you use, so we can apply your plan's limits.
- Billing: if you subscribe, our payment processor Stripe handles your card details. We receive your subscription status and billing period, never your full card number.
Service providers that process your data
- Deepgram (speech-to-text): while you are in a session, your microphone audio is streamed to Deepgram to produce the live transcript. We opt out of Deepgram's model-improvement program, so audio is retained only as long as needed to process it.
- Anthropic (AI coaching): in practice mode, the transcript of your rehearsal or answer, the topic you enter and your delivery metrics are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to write questions and feedback. Anthropic does not train its models on API data.
- Supabase (accounts and usage records), Stripe (payments), and our email provider for sign-in codes.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Other people in your meetings
Vocue records your microphone, not the meeting's audio. If others can be heard through your microphone (for example on laptop speakers), their voices may be transcribed. Where the law requires consent to record, you are responsible for getting it. Headphones avoid the issue.
Retention and deletion
Account and usage records are kept while your account is open and for up to 12 months after, for billing and legal obligations. To delete your account, email support@vocue.ca from the address you signed up with.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise any of these.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
